Abakaliki was under Enugu state and other people sees them as a slave as a result of their humility in serving others at the end they will not settle Abakaliki man because he has nobody to speak for him as the people of Abakaliki was obviously lacking both money and Education.

This is a result of heavy salt deposited in some of the local governments of the state which include; the boundary of Ikwo and Izzi, Uburu, Okposi Salt Lake, and some other LGA around-the-clock. some of these people don't have good water to drink as a result of mineral resources deposited in the soil.

The state is well known for the agricultural production of different types of products ranging from Rice, Yarm, Potatoes, cassava, Mazi and so many others including palm oil and gari. The state is very rich and blessed by god with both mineral and human resources.

The mineral resources range from lead, lime, zink, gold, salt, oil, and gas. According to geologies analysis, Ebonyi state is the richest state in times of natural resources with over 50 different types in a different locations in the state.

The state has some private companies like Royal salt at Enyimba the boundary of Ikwo and Izzi which specialize in mining salt and exporting it to foreign countries some other ones that minis lead and limes in somehow illegal.

I use the word illegal because the indigenous from the state who suffers from the bad odds of mining has nothing to benefit from these companies rather than the consequences in return.

Ebonyi also has gravel which many construction companies come to the state to buy no matter their location in Nigeria.
